As we come near the end of the month of March 2016 – Women’s History Month, I began to wonder about how great it is to be a woman.
Because I know no other way to be – I celebrate the woman who I am and the way God made me! A WOMAN in all my glory!!
This Women’s History Month I had the incredible honor of speaking at TWO military programs as the keynote speaker, participate in TWO women’s networking events, and was featured with one of my #CamouflagedSisters coauthors in a radio interview and several other events where I was able to connect with some incredible women.
I’ve also enjoyed the pleasure of growing my network with a circle of powerful women. The women I’ve been able to connect with this month alone have literally blown my mind with their stories of resiliency and survival, motivation and success, and courage and strength. I think about them and all the women I know. Women who are:
Serving in the Military or serving the Military
Students/Teachers/Lifelong lovers of education
Movers and shakers and so much more. Of all the titles that they wear they all share one common trait and that is – Strength. Women are strong, resilient, survivors, fighters, courageous and most definitely to be admired. This is why I am so proud to be a woman.
I think about my own journey and all that I had to endure, overcome and fight my way through to get here and I smile as my eyes swell up with tears. I share my story proudly, unapologetically because it made me the woman I am today. We women can all hold our heads up high because what probably should have taken us out along our journey only made us stronger. Yes, Women’s History Month is coming to an end but the celebration will continue on! #Sisterhood #WomensHistoryMonth #IamWoman
