A close confidant said to me, “you are doing some great things for the women in your circle.”
I said to him, “I have some amazing women in my circle and I just want to help them share their stories because they have incredible stories that will encourage others.”
This conversation got me thinking about my ‘Sister Circle’ and how important they really are to me. I’ve had some amazing friends over the years – before my military career, during my military career, and after my military career. These Sister- Friends have been and continue to be so impactful in my life. They do so much for me but these three things below are what I am most thankful for:
Inspire- My Sister-Friends inspire me to be the best me I can be. They don’t try to change me. They accept me flaws and all; quirkiness and insecurities. They see greatness in me that I sometimes struggle to see in myself.
Encourage- They support me in my endeavors. My Sister-Circle is genuinely happy for me and celebrate my successes. They see greatness in me and encourage me to dream bigger, promising to cheering me on every step of the way.
Friendship- I value their friendship and respect them. My beautiful Sister-Friends have taught me how to be a better friend and how to trust others. These women have seen the greatness in me, are not threatened by it, because they themselves exude GREATNESS.
How important is friendship and having a Sister Circle to tap into for inspiration, encouragement, support and strength? For me it is very important, it literally gives me life, and I work hard to nurture these relationships. Where do you turn to for support? Check your circle!
